Paysage d'Hiver - Paysage d'Hiver

Translating to "landscapes of winter" in French, Paysage d'Hiver is the project of one Tobias Möckl. Most of his work is ambient or distant black metal. This release is purely black metal, and is my favorite of his. The first song has some amazing musical juxtapositions. Excellent stuff if you can get past the production and song lengths. Get it.

Very cold, distant, and atmospheric black metal from Switzerland. Nimosh (man behind the project) runs Kunsthall Produktionen with Wintherr from Paysage d'Hiver, so it's a must have. Once you get past the production, it's an excellent piece of work.

Weakling - Dead As Dreams

Fairly well known already, but I wanted to post it for those who don't have it. Not my upload, since my Internet sucks lately. Anyways, really good, drawn-out black metal from the United States that's mainly about war but has a... "trance" like feel in the atmosphere that's created with the music. Very highly recommended, although some won't have the patience.

Gris - Il Était Une Forêt...

Really good depressive black metal from Canada. Not as much about "depression" as in the balance between depression and happiness. Very chilling, to be honest. Formerly known as Niflheim. Highly recommended to anyone fond of the genre. Sorry about the Rapidshare, as I didn't upload it myself.
